National Monument yard is busy altough it wasn't a day off. Many people were doing morning exercise alone or in small groups and they scattered around every corners. In the south area of this National Monument, there is a deers sanctuary. Those deers are taken from Presidential Palace in Bogor. The deers are all in good shape and look healthy by looking at their skin tone. A warning sign for not disturbing these deers is displayed in a fun and attractive way without reducing its message

To enter National Monument, visitors must go north gate, near the statue of Diponegoro Prince ridding horses. The main entrance situated underneath it, and the entrance fee is IDR 5000. We have to walk to underground tunnel until we appear inside National Monument Area.

From the literature, the idea of building this National Monument is finally completed 17 Agustus 1961 and officially open on 17 Juli 1975. Monas symbolizes the fighting spirit of Indonesian nation during the independence war, it symbolizes in the form of monument with eternal fire on top. The fire tounge is made of bronze weighted 14.5 ton, composed from 77 separate parts that assimilate together. The whole surface plats with gold weighted not less than 32 kg. Rumours say, the gold was colected from Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu. The height from monument ground to the top of fire tounge is 132 meters.

Monas is also describe number of Indonesian nation, 17 - 8 - 45. The yard is square [45 m x 45 m], height 17 meters, and National History Museum (inside) area height 8 meter.

There is an elevator to take visitors to a small area exactly under the fire tounge. When the author reached Monas peak, He could feel the wind blow so strong while enjoying interesting view of Jakarta city. Unfortunately, telescope to enjoy Jakarta scenery was gone. For safety reason, top of monas is fully protected by metal grill and makes me feel like being inside the bird cage.

In the ground level of National Monument, they are National History Museum, that occupied 80x80 meters area with marble layer height 8 meters. Around the wall, lie 48 glass windows that tell Indonesia national history progress. Various important happening to Indonesian struggle history are re-emerge beautifully in this place.

In a whole, National Monument is suitable to be a tourist attraction district and physical exercise for member of Jakarta city population. The stand and preservation of this area is very important considering, monas is part of city lung and water infiltration, in a city that tumultuous with motor vehicles and sky-scraper buildings.
